Totowa Day Coming Back Again on June 8

June 9, 2018 was a special day. Special not just because Fireworks cascaded across the night sky of Totowa for the first time in many, many years. It was special because for one day and one night, everyone in our community gathered together to celebrate what we all had in common.  We live in Totowa!   Washington Park School was the
site for what we call Totowa Day.
What is Totowa Day?
Mayor John Coiro explained it as, “A day set aside for all of our residents to come together to celebrate our community. We have booths set up with local businesses and community organizations displaying and discussing their goods and services, recreational activities for our younger residents, music, food and drink ending with a
fireworks display”.
Ten months of planning by the Board of Recreation and help from all the local organizations in Totowa made the event happen. As a result of its success, planning has been in full swing as “Totowa Day II” is set for later this spring on June 8th. Reflections on last year, Mayor Coiro stated, “Since it was our inaugural Totowa Day, it was unclear how our residents would embrace our community event.  The turnout was outstanding, it was a beautiful day weather wise, many families participated, and I felt a pride in our community. I heard quite a few positive comments regarding the day”.
Totowa Day II looks to recapture the magic again this year on June 8th, 2019. Come out and enjoy the day!!
