On Wed. May 22, the Environmental Club, in collaboration with the Engineering Club, hosted a representative from Tesla to discuss the company and their role in making environmentally efficient vehicles.

Patrick Sliwowski, a Tesla sales representative and Passaic Valley alum, gave a presentation in which he outlined the steps that his company is taking to improve their products and what positive implications it has for the environment.

“This meeting was a great opportunity for students to see how a Tesla operates mechanically but also how that plays into the environment,” said Environmental Club advisor Mr. Randall Sanders who set up the event.

After the presentation, club members gathered outside in the parking lot and were able to see a Tesla Model 3 in action. Students were able to see the functions of the car and how it worked from an engineering standpoint.

“I thought it was a lot of fun to see the Tesla and I learned quite a bit about it operates,” said Engineering Club member Spiro Klimentos ‘19.

The Environmental Club also recently participated in other events in Little Falls, such as the first annual Little Falls Green Fair and Memorial Day Free Concert at Wilmore Road Park on March 30 and May 24 respectively. At both events, booths were setup to help promote the work the Environmental Club does for the community. As a way to bring awareness to the Unity Garden, students sold herbs, tomato, and pepper plants grown within it.
