Happy 60th Anniversary Joseph and Barbara Abrusci

Joseph & Barbara Abrusci will celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary on September 23, 2022.  They met on a blind date and started their life together in the Bronx NY.  After starting their family in the Bronx they moved to Long Island and continued to expand the family.  In 1970 they moved to Flanders NJ with their three sons and welcomed their fourth child which was a girl and have been residents of Flanders for the past 52 years.  They are the only family on their road that are the original owners.    

 Their four children along with their spouses, 6 grandchildren  and 1 great grandchild  are very proud of their accomplishment and look up to them as role models!  Both enjoy spending time with their family and always look forward to seeing their grandchildren.  Joe & Barbara love supporting their grandchildren in attending their sports and theater activities.  They both love that their family is growing and they get to spend time with the grandchildren.  If you asked them what their biggest pleasure was they would have a hard time deciding but would include spending time with the family,  traveling and watching the Yankees.  They love going to the casino for the day and getting to do day trips.  Neither of them know how to sit still and keep active.  In the past three years they  have had the pleasure of watching two of their grand daughters get married and become Great Grandparents. 

Joseph retired from Entenmann's in 2001 after dedicating 33 years of hard work.  Barbara worked at Castle Print Shop in Roxbury and has since retired.  They both enjoy spending time with their family, traveling and living life to the fullest.   Both are volunteers of the Flanders Fire & Rescue Squad for more than 40 years.  Joe has held numerous positions within the Fire Department and both continue to help the Mt. Olive Community and are still active with the fire department.
